Dr. ScarlettDr. William Scarlett is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon whose practice is located in Bensalem, PA.Dr. Scarlett has been listed in the "Guide to America's Top Plastic Surgeons 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Editions." Dr. Scarlett is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, and the Christian Medical and Dental Society. Some of his areas of proficiency include breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, breast reconstruction, liposuction, tummy tuck, post gastric bypass reconstruction, facial fillers and Botox treatments. Dr. Scarlett completed his fellowship training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also served as Chief Resident of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During his fellowship he trained at several prestigious medical centers in the New York and Philadelphia area, which include: New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY Jefferson-Frankford Hospital System, Philadelphia, PA Wycoff Heights Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, PA Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia, PA St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA Dr. Scarlett also completed an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery fellowship at the Body Sculpting Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. During this fellowship Dr. Scarlett had the opportunity to work with renowned surgeons in the fields of breast surgery, body contouring and facial surgery. Dr. Scarlett is a Cum Laude graduate of Dickinson College where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then attended medical school at the University of Des Moines. While attending medical school Dr. Scarlett also taught Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Sterile Surgical Techniques to incoming students. After completing medical school, Dr. Scarlett completed his five-year General Surgery Residency at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. During his surgical training, Dr. Scarlett performed thousands of operations therefore gaining a wealth of surgical experience. With this experience, Dr. Scarlett understands which procedures are reliably effective and safe, and which procedures are not effective or do not produce the desired results. Therefore, Dr. Scarlett can offer extensive opinions on various procedures and give realistic answers and expectations for his patients. Dr. Scarlett has also been directly involved in research to develop new techniques in breast reconstructive surgery and continues to teach and mentor plastic surgery fellows in the Philadelphia programs. Over the past 15 years Dr. Scarlett published many articles in both national and international journals and has lectured regionally and nationally on topics ranging from breast surgery to skin cancer. In addition he has been honored with several awards, the most recent of which include the City Avenue Physicians' Award and being named among America's Top Plastic Surgeons by the Consumers' Research Council of America for a third year in a row. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
